(Dr. Gary T. RYAN)
I'm sorry but I won't be able to make this Fall's cruise. There are two major "events" I'm coordinating here in Gettysburg, one each side of the cruise dates.
As a personal update, I've had some major life changes since 2003. I finally "officially" retired from the Navy in January 2004. I think I was on "terminal leave" when we had our last reunion in Orlando. I started my own consulting firm soon after retirement, divorced and just remarried six weeks ago, on January 12th. I'm attaching a photo taken at our reception. Please note the smile on my face.
My bride's name is Sally (Sara). Sally's was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania, graduated from Penn State and has been teaching since graduate school. We've been dear friends for years, became business partners last year and quickly decided that we should marry. Sally retired from teaching a week after we married to work full time for our corporation. Her job now is trying to keep me out of trouble, if you remember an almost impossible task, and helping restructure our business operational plan, nowhere as difficult. Business has been extremely busy. We were just awarded a fairly large contract supporting Army Asymmetric Warfare in the Pentagon and are almost doubling in size. I know at 62/63 we alI should be slowing down but I'm just having way too much fun.
Please give my best to your family and do keep me in the information/distribution loop. Keeping in touch is becoming even more important as time goes by.
Warm wishes to all and I hope you have a "Grand Adventure" in November!!
(Gretchen "Heidi" HEIDBRINK Ewing)
Dear Classmates 1963
I wish I could join you for the cruise. It sounds like a lot of fun.
I do travel twice a year to visit my Mother & brother Paul & sister Gayle & family but I am going on a cruise to Alaska in August for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Can't justify another on this year.
We have been in Bend, Oregon for about six years & really love it. I still work very part time as a Dental Hygienist. I have two children 35 & 38 & two wonderful grand daughters in San Diego.
I took up down hill & cross country skiing & snowshoeing. I also enjoy hiking & biking. We have every sport here but surfing.
Bend is very popular & has grown from about 35,000 to 75,000. It's beautiful & a healthy place to live. My husband plays a lot of golf & I am now a 13 holer. Graduated from 9 hole group.
My Mother at 86 is doing very well. Still lives at the lake & takes care of the property alone. You should see her on a riding lawn mower. My sister & brother are well. Mother has 15 grand children & 15 great grand children. If there is a book made this year I would like to purchase one so I can catch up on how everyone is doing.
Hi! to all

Greetings from the great Smokey Mountains
Sorry for the delay in responding to the invite. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend, as we will be land cruising the good old USA in our new fifth wheel.
Vickie has retired so we are enjoying TN and our three grandkids (my daughter and her husband moved here shortly after we did).
Attached is a recent photo.
Hope everyone is well and happy
(Ann JACKSON Houston)
Thanks for writing. I am sad that Michele could not recover. I am grateful for Nick's address. I do think it will be a great honor to Michele for him to cruise for her. I believe that this is the best time in our lives. Who would have thought so? Life begins at 63 when things are easier and love and friendships are most treasured.
I married Randy Houston July 12, 2008 my long time friend who became my sweetheart last Dec. We are Blessed to have someone to Cherish us and have fun with. We can't make the reunion as we'll be visiting in Florida Nov 25th thru the 30th with family around Orlando, Melbourne, Sorento. My Best friend, Kay Neet lives in Ocoee and we will be with her too! She went 1 yr to BM....but graduated from Oakridge. She is still sweet and single and loves horses. If anyone's around the area at that time....and has a chance to visit....my cell is 702-271-1909.
Ann (Jackson) Houston

I am not able to go on the cruise but if you have a get together let me know. If you need any help let me know.
May your troubles be less, your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door
(Dr. James Jerome "Mike" MAHONEY, Jr.)
Although I can't take part in the cruise, I hope to attend a reunion pre-cruise party should there be one in November. I am currently living in Tallahassee after retiring from the VA as a clinic physician last year. Since retirement I have been able to travel throughout Central America and also had the opportunity to travel to Thailand and Cambodia . Last Fall I went to Turkey with my brother and his wife. I am now adjusting to living in North Florida after living 20+ years in the Keys and South Florida. Foolishly, I brought with me 100 orchid plants from the Keys when I moved to Tallahassee. Its been a struggle getting them survive in this distinctly non-tropical environment.
Cell: 850 766 7012
Thanks for keeping me on your mailing list. The pictures of the cruise and all of our classmates were terrific. 1962 & 63 were really my only years in Florida, but the genuine people and relationships I enjoyed that senior year have stayed with me all these years. I've always remember being accepted, as if I'd been there all my life. You all made it a great senior year. I'm only sorry that I haven't been able to return the favor over the years, and for that I apologize.
However, after graduating from Notre Dame, marrying my "sweet sixteen" girl friend from Indianapolis, being a U.S. Army pilot, getting an MBA, having two beautiful daughters, starting my own aviation business, enjoying two young grandsons, celebrating 40 years with Susan, and being involved with Catholic Men's Fellowship, it's been tough to get away!
Good flying and good luck! All my best to everyone. --Mike McNamara
You are simply an amazing organizer - and even all past reunion memorabilia included! Loved the reunion photos AND those of some who couldn't attend. Sorry I had to miss the fun.
About a month ago, I received an invitation to attend the Class of '58's reunion. My sister Anne is married to Jim Lane ('58); they hosted the Friday night event at their home. John and Joann Ellis stayed with them. Jont Tyson never misses one of their reunions!
The following night there was a dinner at BMHS. It was great fun seeing many older siblings of my classmates: Claire Prandoni, Frannie (Sharp) Pignone, Jay Barry, Pat Knipe, John Ellis, Anne Lynn Kettles, Jerry Shepp, and others I'm forgetting (wine is surely eating away at my brain).....
I had great fun guiding my 10-year old granddaughter, Sabrina, through the presidential election. She and her 7 year old brother, Owen, live in Columbia, SC, with my son Matt and his wife Kathryn, who teach at a prep school there. I sent Sabrina Nonna's homemade "election kit" with an electoral map, etc. to follow. Her parents took her and Owen into the voting booths with them so they could push the button for Obama in this historic election which I assured Sabrina that, when she is her parents' age, she will always remember.
My daughter, Lauren, still lives in NYC, is the weekend editor of the NY Post, and just ran the NY Marathon (for the first and last time, I hope) in honor of her dad, Dewey Ramsby, who died in September after a long battle with cancer. Other son, Greg, lives here in Orlando with his wife and two children.
I took my father to Cynthia Runyon's wake Monday night. Sheila Malaghan Antonio was there. She, Nena and I all agreed that we hope the next gathering isn't 5 years away.
Keep in touch, all!
PS. Greg Robichaud's mother, Peggy, died a few weeks ago. The only one left in their family now is Michelle. Lucia McLeod and I remain fast friends - she still lives in Dana Point, CA and is as beautiful as ever. Her mother, Lucy, remarried last spring or summer at the young age of 85 to Woody Igou. Claire Prandoni said Joanne lives in their parents' home on Ridgewood..... Ann Barry, I love your brother Jay! He introduces his bald self and wife to me at his reunion and is such a great guy! He said you are/have moved to CO. Good for you!

It looks like everyone had a great time and I do wish I could have been there. I have so many memories of you guys every time I see your names or photos things keep popping into my head. Just a great bunch of people and I am lucky to have known you.
Since you missed all my boring stories because I wasn’t there, here are a few.
Since we last met at the 20th reunion Vickie and I moved from Utah to New Hampshire, the land of presidential primaries. Vickie decided to try her hand at Real Estate and I continued to write software. Vickie missed her family so I got a job in Santa Barbara. Wonderful weather but it was very likely we would never be able to afford a house there. One nice surprise was the birth of our son who is now 15. Sean is a great kid and his main problem is that he has these parents that care too much.
Once Sean was born I looked for a job near Sacramento where Vickie’s family is from so Sean could be near the cousins. This is when I started working at HP. I took a couple of years off from HP to help start up a company but when the internet bubble burst I went back to HP.
Vickie and I moved about every two years until Sean was born and now we have lived in the same area since ’93 and the same house since ’95. We sort of lived our lives backwards as we did most of our traveling early on. Sean, of course, thinks this is normal.
We have settled into our nice little comfortable life. We have a modest house on two acres in the country. It is very quiet. There is an animal trail along the creek that runs through the property so we see the occasional deer, wild turkeys, and roaming cats. We live on the edge of the Sierras so nothing is level.
My current job has me traveling more than I would like. I went to Germany two years ago and then didn’t travel until last April. Since then I have been in Connecticut four times and Milan for about a month. I tweaked my knee in Italy and so I won’t be traveling for the next few months anyway as I have an MRI scheduled for early December. I am lucky in that the group I work for in HP is doing really well and is hiring like crazy.
I do wish I was better at keeping in touch with you all.
Love you all.
(James A KOERNER)
I was spending idle time on the computer this afternoon and found your web site. As I reviewed the site it brought back many fond memories from the past. I'm sorry that we missed what appears to have been an excellent 45th for the class of 63. My wife Darlene and I have been frequent movers over the past 25 years, and have lost touch with many of our past friends. After a 25 year career with Textron, three children and eight grandchildren, we have now retired to Port St Lucie, Florida. We spend our time enjoying the kids, golfing, boating and traveling. It appears that my name has disappeared from the class of 63. Please add me to the list, and let me know when future events are planned. Our address is:

I got your e-mail about the reunion, and It really brought back so many good memories. I really wish I could have been there. Can you believe it -- forty-five years since we graduated from high school -- wow, that really blew my mind. I still can't believe it that it was forty-five years ago we graduated -- where does the time go. It seems like yesterday. Seeing those pictures really brought back so many good memories. My wife and I now have two sons that are thirty, and twenty-two. We are the proud grandparents of two children, a boy, Joshua, six, and Emily is two. Quite possibly the cutest children in Charlotte, North Carolina. But then, I guess that's granddad talking. I work in the courthouse in Charlotte in the child support division. You'd be suprised how many people don't pay their child support -- it's really sad. I guess we are entering the retirement age, social security says 66, which if I can hold out that long, it's only two more years away. I guess we have gotten "old" doesn't it. We looked at the reunion pictures, and it really brought back so many good memories, "Moore Memories", and they were really good. Let's try to stay in touch.
Mike, I need to send you an addendum to my first letter. When I mentioned my sons and grandchildren, I forgot to tell you about my second son. He is twenty-two years old, Timothy, he is a college student at the University of Charlotte, at Charlotte where he is taking courses to become a teacher. Of course, we are very proud of both of them. Let's try to stay in touch every so often.
(Diane DiPAOLO Anderson)
It is impossible, it has been 45 years! However, November 9th is my Step-Dad's 85th Birthday and my Son in-law's 35th Birthday. Yes, same day. My Sis and I are headed to Philadelphia, for a Big party for Dad and of course we will include Doug's Birthday, as well! Interesting date. My ex-husband had the same birthday! I will look forward to your collage of pictures. So sorry I cannot make this event .... I would love to see so many of our class, of which many attended 1st grade together. We must be old! NOT!
Ran into Lucia McLeod out here about 5-6 years ago. Very small world.
Won't be attending in person, my sprit will be with you all. :-(
God bless to all and continue to keep me in the loop.
Thank you so very much for bringing me proof we all still exist, after all these years. It looks like a grand time was had by all! I will have to make sure to be at the next celebration of our youth!
How fun are these pictures. I have seen them enough, now, to believe I was really there.
See you next time.
(Thomas "Jerry" CARUSO) [Senior Class President]
The only planned trip stateside we have is in May. We will be going to Seattle to see our grandson (and his family!) then to Las Vegas for CE for me and a niece's graduation from UNLV and finally to San Diego to visit other family members. Then back to Guam. In addition, we are waiting to hear from the Philippine agency about our adopted daughter. The entire process takes about 2 plus years and they are looking for a suitable child-age 3 to 5-who will join our expanded family sometime this year. Wish us good luck. I plan on sending a recent photo and family information to Pat C. for the update on class members.
I heard from Jim Petty recently and he said he and his wife held the record for having the youngest children--up until we get our daughter! Isn't life grand?
Wishing we could join the group on the cruise,
Jerry & Alicia
Just for the record, Guam is in the US but only as a Territory. However, we are part of the US phone dialing system, use US laws, mail and money. US everything--except voting rights! But, we are so far out in left field that it takes a full day--or more--to get back to the lower 48. And, yes, we have family in the States. Vince, our older son, lives in Renton, WA, along with his pregnant wife and our only grand-child. Our number second son is married and in the US Navy. He's currently stationed in Yukoska, Japan. His ship has been to Guam twice in the last 9 months, so we have seen him more than the others. In addition, Alicia has numerous nieces and nephews along the west coast. When going to the States we usually go via Narita, Japan, and Seattle via Northwest Airlines. It's a nicer ride and we don't have to go through Honolulu and LA, neither of which airport we like.
Finally, I did see the pictures and we really wish we could have been there. I'm sure you all had a blast. Unfortunately, time, money and previous engagements kept us here. But, we did make it the Manila in the Philippines twice for friends weddings last year, as well as one trip to Seattle, Las Vegas and San Diego earlier in 2008. We usually plan on more than one stop when we go. In fact, I'm planning on going again this coming June to San Diego for a CE program and we'll go through Seattle again to see family there. Oh! I think I included you in our e-mail anouncement last November about our adoption of a 3 year old girl from the Philippines. Just to bring you up to date--there have been some delays but it still is in the works. Since the US and 90 other countries started new implementing new rules about intercountry adoptions last April, the paperwork has about tripled! I'm sure you understand how long things take when you are dealing with the Government. Does the phrase "close enough for government work" ring any bells!? Anyway, it will still happen, but in Uncle Sam's good time.
That's all the news that's fit to print. Love and Prayers, Jerry and Alicia
PS: Please tell all our classmates "Hi, from the West Pacific"
Here's my mailing address & phone number update:

If anyone wants to visit us have them call me and we'll pick them up at the airport!
Pamela PIERSON Hardy and Patricia A. HEIDRICH at lunch in Winter Park, July 2009.
Lamar McLeod Spalding, Lucia McLEOD and Patricia A. HEIDRICH.
I'll never forget the first time we met;
We tried so hard to impress.
We drove fancy cars, smoked big cigars,
And wore our most elegant dress.
It was quite an affair, the whole class was there.
It was held at a fancy hotel.
We wined, and we dined, and we acted refined,
And everyone thought it was swell.
The men all conversed about who had been first
To achieve great fortune and fame.
Meanwhile, their spouses described their fine houses
And how beautiful their children became.
At our next get-together, no one cared whether
They impressed their classmates or not.
The mood was informal, a whole lot more normal;
By this time we'd all gone to pot.
It was held out-of-doors, at the lake shores;
We ate hamburgers, coleslaw, and beans.
Then most of us lay around in the shade,
In our comfortable t-shirts and jeans.
By the fortieth year, it was abundantly clear,
We were definitely over the hill.
Those who weren't dead had to crawl out off bed,
And home in time for their pill.
And now I can't wait, they've set the date;
Our fiftieth is coming, I'm told.
It should be a ball, they've rented a hall
At the Shady Rest Home for the Old.
Repairs have been made on my hearing aid,
My pacemaker's been turned up on high.
My wheelchair is oiled, and my teeth have been boiled.
And I've bought a new wig and glass eye.
I'm feeling quite hearty and I'm ready to party
I'm gonna dance til dawn's early light.
It'll be lots of fun, but I hope that there's one
Other person who can make it that night.
